The author agrees with most of what all the other articles state. But this article in particular has made a lot of points towards pregnant women affecting kid’s school performance. This article in particular shows that research shows that a pregnant woman receiving treatment for their depression is effective and safe to do. They believe that depression should be taken more serious do to the negative effects of parental psychological state of mind. This is very vital due as the article states that their examine a connection between child development and parental development, and highlights the importance of screening pregnant and postpartum women (and men) for depression. This article by Lecia Bushak has also said that research has shown that father’s that have depression can have a physical impact on his child after they are born, making them more likely to be born prematurely. And depressed mothers have shown more strongly have a connected effect to a negative effect on daughters in especially, and this is something that has been studies in past researches as well.
