The dream of every woman is to experience mother hood. The very sight of new born brings happiness. During infancy and childhood the child is dependent on its mother for everything. Initially every child is born with fundamental traits and each of the traits is triggered at respective stages of development. They begin to follow language and react to visual and auditory sounds. In unit 6, we studied how important language is to the overall development of our Brain. During this period a child goes through certain development process like responding to sound, visual gazing, motor movements, reflex, crying, crawling, attempting to walk, categorization of objects and people, recognition and recall, relating to environment, and the ability to solve problems through imagining rather than experiment skills are developed. By 2 years, they develop emotional responses of smiling, anger, sadness, fear. At this stage parents tend to notice for any abnormalities in the child’s brain development based on the type of response or lack of response in certain process. Nightmarish times for parents and society. Why this situation? It is at this stage physiological transformation takes place. Girls achieve puberty and technically ready for reproduction. Boys begin to grow facial and body hairs to signal maturity with hardening of voice. They no longer want to be dependent on parents and at this stage peer groups are formed and they would listen and conduct themselves according to their own/peer advise and most importantly opposite sex.
