1. Breaching of the UGC circulars regarding the interview performance; The circular number 935 clearly states that the all candidates are required to present a presentation before the selection committee. Accordingly, all other Universities are sending 1-2 topics to the candidates (Annex 01) and ask to prepare a PowerPoint presentation on the topic he/she preferred. Nevertheless, the Ruhuna University breached this circular and consequently the interview led to the unequanimity of the criteria of the performance. (Annex 02: circular 935)

The Head of the Department asked to define Buddha, Dhamma and Sngha and I did it well with reference to the commentarial interpretations. The secondary part of the question was to analyze all three terms etymologically. My answer was that the term sangha was a noun and he repeatedly said to give its root. In fact the question deviated me because a noun contains base unless a root. He should have asked the root of the past participle noun. He affirms that the root is ‘han’[a] of the term Sangha. No doubt, according to the traditional grammar his answer is correct. But, it is not the only answer for the question he raised. Another etymological interpretation also is found regarding the definition of Sangha. My answer was based on the second point. However, he rejected my answer by saying that it is incorrect. I would challenge him academically that I can prove my answer also acceptable according to the Anudipanipātha. It clearly notes that the ‘gana’ also to be taken as the base of the term sangha. 1. Venerable Bhikkhu again asked me to explain etymologically the term ‘sātadaṃ’ and I did it clearly. Nevertheless, I used the English term ‘offer’ in terms of the root of the aforementioned term. The strangest experience was that he rejected my answer. As I have heard later, he and the head of the Department are unable to understand English. However, his response made other members, who were not aware of Pali, a misunderstanding; that my answer was incorrect.
Unequanimity
1. The other candidate, who faced for the interview of Senior lecturer Grade II was not skillful in English. So that, the partial committee members invited him to speak in Pali and hide his weakness while I was not given an opportunity to speak in Pali as a scholar presented six papers at the International Pali Conferences and coordinated two International Pali
