I feel that the debate between destiny and choice involves religion. I believe in free will and there are parts of the existentialism theory that I believe in as well. I honestly feel that we can’t rely on some higher power(s) to help us understand and be who we are. We should take responsibility for our choices. I agree that the only way to give meaning to in one’s life is to take responsibility and do the things that he or she feels is authentic. Existentialistic ideals have been shown in literature, TV shows and even movies. Many TV shows have plots that involve a main character who goes through life taking responsibilities for the things they do or say. Those who founded and raised awareness to this theory, were first seen as radical and outrageous, but later their ideas were accepted. In Grendel, existentialism was shown as he went through his last year alive. Grendel tried to understand who he was and his place in the universe. Existentialism still exist in today’s society, people believe that it is their responsibility to make choices that will help them live their life to the fullest. I believe in free will and individual responsibility, but what do you believe in, fate or free
