I’m a very optimistic person when it comes to most things but when it comes to our society…I’m pessimistic at best. Not to sound rude or to offend, but I personally believe that our society is corrupted. It’s falling to shambles and there’s no sliver of improvement. Kids are running around with guns and shooting at others—and getting away with it. Cops are killing innocent people and getting away with it even when there is physical evidence that the victim was innocent. Young teenagers and even adults are abusing loyalty, so the divorce rates are so significantly high, and even respect is abused now these days. In the U.S., we have the right to speak our minds but now too many are afraid to do so because once an opinion is spoken, it is immediately rejected. Take those who are attracted to the same sex; gay men are frowned upon and young boys who come out about their own true self are beaten and battered verbally. So many have committed suicide because they were not accepted for their true selves. It’s absurd, it truly is. Many ads in magazines that reveal pictures of tiny women force young girls to believe that they have to weigh so little and starve themselves of proper nutrition just to be called “beautiful” or to be accepted—and what’s even sadder is that most of those photos are photo-shopped to make those models appear flawless and stick-thin. I’m not sure how other societies are doing, but I do believe that ours is a miserable
