Businesses from different corners of the world, such as Kiwi Experience “the leading hop-on, hop-off backpacker bus New Zealand experience” (Kiwi Experience, 2014), every day are fighting to keep up with technology as technology grows and expands. They also face the question, how do we reach our customers across the other side of the world efficiently and effectively whilst also competing with other companies?
One technological advancement that has aided companies like Kiwi Experience in doing this is web technologies such as Web2.0 and its predecessor Web1.0. Web2.0 has offered businesses like Kiwi Experience the opportunity to expand and grow their businesses simply by allowing them to reach customers all over the world.

It encourages people to interact with each other and share information (What are the major differences among Web1.0 2.0 and 3.0, 2012).
Web 2.0 also means the speed in which information is uploaded much faster. The control over what content is viewed and uploaded is no longer kept to a minimum but has now been shifted to the person using the internet and what they wish to view. (Difference between Web1.0 and Web2.0, 2011)
How can Web2.0 be used by Kiwi Experience?
Web2.0 is about interaction between people and sharing information. Kiwi Experience is NZ tour bus company which takes people from different countries around NZ sight-seeing and exploring. Each person on board the bus will have a communication device which can access the internet so they can talk to people from their country.
One way they could utilise Web2.0 more is through the use of social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter. They could open a new Facebook group for every new group of people on tours and those people are then able to invite their friends. Their friends are then able to see all the information shared including photos and places they have visited. This is a form of advertising and would also decrease Kiwi Experience’s advertising
