But the real start was in 1970 debuting the Dodge Challenger name with 12 engine options going from a 101hp 6-CYL to a 425 hp HEMI V8. The Challenger got a refresh in 1971 which gave it new front inlet pieces for the grill and some new dual tail lights. Also a rare engine debuted called the 528 HEMI engine it was the most powerful car in 1971 with 625HP and 645lb. ft of torque. Again another refresh happened in 1972 which gave it a more trapezoidal grill and 4 tail lights, but kept all the same engines. Then in 1978 japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi teamed up with Dodge to make a 4-cyl eco car for the oil crisis. The 4th engine is the 6.2L Supercharged Hemi V8 with 707 hp and 650 lb ft of torque. That comes in the same auto and manual as the 392 but more powerful, In either the Hellcat or Hellcat Widebody. The final engine is the 6.2L Supercharged Demon Hemi engine with 808 hp on pump and 840 on race gas with 770 lb ft of torque, which is in the 2018 Dodge Demon only with a 8 spd automatic.
