It has been a common knowledge that one year of a dog’s life is equivalent to 7 years. And one would think that it is likely a good basis on how to determine exactly the age of the dog in human years since by the time the dog may be 12 years old, humans would be 84 years old by then in which limited movements and activities can become evident.
Unfortunately, this system of calculating dog years and comparing them to how humans live their lives may be inaccurate. For one, a dog, despite being older, may still exhibit a perfectly healthy condition because of its genetics and how well he is taken care of.
