Rule thirty one is on preachers themselves, and directly states “Let them act, with religious decorum, as men of the Gospel following in the footsteps of their Savior…being careful to avoid undue familiarity with others.” The order knows that the preachers will be more tempted to sin when they are among the people and are unlikely to have the piety of Dominic, which is why the leaders directly say in the rules to not get too familiar with people and to keep some distance while preaching the Gospel.
