There are scientific reasons why consuming a high amount of meat has negative impacts for our health, mentality and physical appearance. One of the problems of by consuming a high amount of meat is gaining weight. Meat is rich in protein, carbohydrates, and fat. Consuming a high amount of fat is a cause of obesity or becoming over weight. Stress and biased realize in obese people’s day-to-day life activity. Obese people are discriminated in educational institution, work place and interpersonal relationship because of their body appearance. (Puhl 3). This shows how this negative stereotype has high challenge for people’s mentality. High blood pressure, stroke and type 2diabetes are some of the result of obesity or overweight. The disadvantage of eating meat is not just about gaining body weight; it’s also about health. Cardiovascular, heart, cancer are a major diseases, which come from consuming high amount meat. The processes in industry and agriculture to produce meat have negative impacts for public health. Using extra amount of pesticides, antibiotics and hormones allow us to produce more food, including meat, than we produce without chemicals, but with a negative impact. Veg pizza, diet soda and a bowl of gummy bears are considered “vegetarian,” but they are not a healthy vegetarian diet and it still will be a cause of so many health problems. A healthy vegetarian or vegan diet is a good amount of various fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Also, to substitute the saturated and trans fat that we get from animal products with good fat we should consume nuts, olive oil and canola oil (Harvard Health Publication). To live a healthy life, it is good to follow proper vegan or vegetarian diet. Appropriate planned and nutritionally sufficient vegetarian or vegan diets lower the risk of certain long-lasting diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and hypertension.
