Colonies in Africa gave ports to European nations, which gave them easy access to new markets, increasing their profit from trade. Also, the resources colonies supported the industries in Europe to keep up with its production and gave a huge wealth as well. Jules Ferry clearly states these benefits in his speech when he was a prime minister as his justification of why European Imperialism was good, and by that, Jules Ferry reveals the importance of European Imperialism by claiming it was beneficial for their economies. However, even though he does a good job stating the importance of European Imperialism in the economic perspective, he fails to capture one essence of it, which is the cruelty of European’s treatment to the natives. Thus, Jules ferry does capture the economic factors of European Imperialism, but not all of
