This essay will focus on Adolf Hitler’s rise to power within Germany. His rise to power is generally viewed with confusion; many do not understand how someone who was so evil could convince an entire nation he would be a good leader. The main goal of this essay is to identify the key aspects of Hitler’s rise to power and why the German people elected someone who had such extreme ideas. It was his attempts at gaining control over Europe that ultimately caused the war. He had been appeased and given land under the promise that his troops would not invade anywhere else. When the Germans invaded Poland, it was almost immediately that the war began. Eventually, many countries started joining in and it became a massive conflict. By the end of the war in 1945, millions had lost their lives, between those in the actual war, and the masses that were being killed in concentration camps. Adolf Hitler committed suicide in 1945, so as not to die by the hands of those who were averse to him and the devastation he caused.

People are not sure how a man who spewed so much hatred and proposed truly terrible things ever gained the faith and trust of the majority of a nation. First, there are many sources to support any claims about Hitler’s rise to power. The topic is one that has been explored extensively by scholars, simply because of the general public’s curiosity about the rise of someone so evil. Second, I am very interested in this topic, which means that I will be able to write this paper without getting bored of researching it. Last, I have a clear idea of what the overall goal for this paper is; discovering how different factors impacted Hitler’s rise to power. However, this essay currently has many weaknesses. Most notably that many people have written about this topic. So many scholars having written on the topic might be a benefit in a certain aspect, but it could also be viewed as an issue because it means there is a rare chance of finding a new way to view it. I would like to improve the organization of thoughts for the paper, so that when it actually gets written, it will be clear and concise so anyone reading it could easily follow along.
