During the first years, movie studios were concerned about the decline of movie tickets sales that could be induced by the rise of this new media. But nevertheless, it has been found that, still people can watch movies at home, there have been slight changes in box office numbers. The cost of going out and the preference of watching a movie from the comfort of home could be two of the principal reasons that may explain the decline attendence at cinema theatres. For this reason, Mintel, a research firm, publishes every year a report that analizes cinema consumption at home from a closer perspective. Several conclusions can be obtained from this study:
