Generally cultural diversity can affect the team performance in three ways:
● People find easy to work and cooperate with whom shared similar values, attitudes and beliefes according to the cultural similarity theory;
● People tend to class themselves according to their social identity and use their group norms to judge others people behaviour according to social categorization theory;

The result depends on the differences among the team members and how they are seen by team members. If positive it leads to brainstorming and creativity,if negative the differences may create a conflict.
On the other sidea, a convergent process is the one that align the team around common objectives,commitment or conclusion. This process if positive can facilitate comunication and informations sharing which produces social integration or development of group cohesion. Convergent process may results negative when they make the group closed to dissent from within or new information from without, when the new information is important to achieving a high- quality decision. ( for example the premature concurrence-seeking ten- dency that interferes with effective group decision- making ).
From this theory cultural diversity seems able to decrease the convergent process, hence, both of them can lead to a loss or a gain. (see picture 2)
