The government of a country is responsible for providing adequate housing, which includes: legal security of tenure; availability of services; materials, facilities, and infrastructure; affordability; habitability (protection from physical and environmental hazards); and accessibility, location, and cultural adequacy. (Nita Chaudhuri, 2004). Many poverty alleviation projects or organizations have been created to help the poor people in Belize. Last year (2015) Denton Belisle, Minister of Housing started another project to improve the housing conditions. He organized a workshop where they brainstormed ideas and concluded that the government must do something about the problem. They travel far from home because we don’t have the equipment, trained doctors, nor facilities to provide the necessary tests or surgery. In a web article, the following was stated, “be aware that medical care in Belize does not meet the same standards of medical care in North America or the European Union. Not even remotely.” The article also revealed some issues with the medical services that Belize provides. Some issues are equipment problems, supply shortage, management problems, untrained staff, inadequate facilities, limited equipment, etc. Almost all wealthy nations provide universal health care (A.
