Stress can be involved in anyone’s life, no matter their age or status, and it can get frantic trying to be able to deal with it. Stress can be caused by anxiety, for example test anxiety or even worrying about someone or something. Stress keeps us wary of things all around us, as well as keeping us ready for anything, almost like a flight or fight instinct. In this day and age, stress can get in the way of peoples busy lives, and with long-lasting stress, it starts to affect not just the mind, but for the body as well as the immune system. My own stresses are almost 90% school related, and with taking heavy courses I can find myself slowly declining in my work performance. All the stresses of my final year of high school have had me in ruins, between prom drama, relationship struggles, and having 2 weeks to write 4 essays that are all due on the same day, does not help one bit. But, It really doesn’t help when I suffer from anxiety, and have a past record of depression, but I have always found a way to overcome it. The ways I come over my stress are simple, or well more simply said than done. When I feel my anxiety pressing on I usually try and get as much alone time as I can (which is hard considering I play rugby 4-5 days a week, as well as now highland dance on the weekends), another way I reduce my stress is to just let my mouth blabber on about whatever is bothering me, whether it be to my mum, or someone I just met. Just being able to talk it out is the best kind of stress relief, probably because someone can usually give me an idea on how to work the situation out. My last point on how I get rid of my stress is by doing rugby, as odd as it may sound, I turn my anxiety into almost an anger, and I use it to tackle and take down my team members or opposing team.
