“The VCR, though, refused to die quickly. As of 2005, some 94.5 million Americans still owned VHS-format VCRs.” (“VHS Comes to America”). Even though some newer technologies and advancements came after the VHS tape, it was still very popular and still widely used across the United States. Many newer versions of the VHS tape and the VCR have came along, but people still to this day on several VHS tapes and may even still own a VCR. A quote from (“Think the Floppy Disk is Dead?”) states, “The floppy disk might seem like something better left in the 1990’s, instead it’s a product that’s alive and well in the 21st century.” The invention of the floppy disk led to a very popular item, still used today, that was made to store data. After the success of the floppy disk, Tom Persky’s operation expanded into a company that would copy data onto the disks and would sell them. Even though items such as flash drives and CD’s came along, some business places still preferred to use the floppy disk.
