One person who clearly understood that was Brian Goldman. He mentioned in his TED Talk, that there were so many instances where he put himself through so much to be perfect. He memorized every little thing that he could while he was in college so that when it came time to do his job as a doctor, there would be no room for error. Even with all of the things that he did, and the things that he knew, he still made mistakes. He personally said that he would ignore what most people would think of as common sense to try and prove that he was good at his job and that he was able to do his job without asking others for help or even a second opinion on the situation and because of the decisions that he made, a patient of his ended up with major brain damage that later ended up dying. He mentioned how because of what had happened and the previous mistakes that he had made, he felt shamed and alone. He felt like he had to be the perfect person that everyone expected to be and that was what led him to make mistakes. People need to realize that even when every little thing is memorized, no matter how perfect a doctor may seem, there will come a day when a mistake will be made
