In retaliation, the Sioux killed some U.S soldiers and after some months, the soldiers also killed some of the Sioux members for revenge. The Sioux however, made allies in neighboring towns and fought back. They later had the possession of their land back. The war led to a series of battles including the Battle of Little Big Horn.
