This smartphone also included GPS capability, a camera, a 3.5 inch touch screen, and internet applications. People waited hours in line, while others camped out at their local AT&T stores. Apple Inc. sold 270,000 smart phones for around $399-$499 (depending on how much storage you wanted) during the first 30 hours (Finkle). With any new products comes flaws. Some costumers were not satisfied with the battery life, memory storage, and the network.
Apple then introduced the iPhone 4G with more qualities and improvements, but there were still complaints about the quality of the phone. Apple Inc. has produced other iPhones that are continuing to improve and satisfy the customers, such as the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, and the most recent one: iPhone 6 Plus. Microsoft is one of the largest personal computer software companies out there. In 2000, researchers found that 97% of the world’s pcs were run on Microsoft software. The company was founded in 1975 by William Henry Gates III, also known as Bill Gates, and Paul Allen. Gates dropped out of Harvard University to pursue his dreams with a childhood friend, little did he know he would become an “iconic American business magnate” (ProQuest). Together their mission was to advance and improve software technology, make it easier, affordable and most importantly enjoyable for years to come. As time passed they created computer programming in different languages such as Basic and Fortran-80. During that time, Microsoft also worked with Apple to create a software for their computers. In 1980 they were able to produce GUI (graphical user interface) for Apple. In 1986 Microsoft introduced their own GUI product and called it Microsoft Windows (Gale Virtual Reference Library). Microsoft Windows is one of the most used operating systems in history. Infuriated with their invention, Apple sued Microsoft. Unfortunately four years later the law suit was
