Liability should not be viewed as a bad thing or a hindrance but as a tool. Healthcare teams are held to high standards as well as strict standards and should be due to what is at stake so liability should not be a worry. If you are working or plan to work in this industry you should familiarize yourself with liabilities in your job as well as the organization you’re working at. You must exercise caution in this field, identify potential liabilities understand the trouble it may produce. It is very common for entities to impose organizations and management of healthcare industries with regulations (Dunn 136). Adae ended up paralyzed due to the negligence of these hospitals and ended up settling for $2.3 million but the fact is now because of the lack of action of the healthcare employee she is now paralyzed. Cynthia on June 28, 2006 was taken into the hospital with complaints of right shoulder pain, limited motion, cough, and a fever.(Crow 2013) The doctors believed Adae to have an infection or thyroid abnormality (Crow 2013). The doctors order blood test for Cynthia and were performed but before any results were given she was discharged the next day. In the results in was shown that she was suffering from and infection and the doctors were made aware but did not relay this information to Cynthia and causing her further pain and anguish as well as delayed treatment. Adae then was admitted to another hospital where no care or diagnosis was done and later discharged a couple days later. Four days later she returned to the last hospital she was discharged from where they later found an abscess causing this symptoms and issues. At this time she had become paralyzed and also, having slurred speech, weakness, renal failure (Crow 2013).
