Individuals and Research Institutions are always out to debate and make findings across fields in both the social and natural sciences. At this juncture, the paper looks into pieces of research done to debate about general attitudes of employees toward pay or remuneration, security,benefits and work challenges in the public and private sector. To make a meaningful understanding of employee attitudes in public and private sector, Frederick Herzberg studied the workplace to find out about factors that cause satisfaction and dissatisfaction. The findings were published in the 1959 book The Motivation to Work. The mode of data collection employed was the interviews. The employees were asked what pleased them about their jobs. The Herzberg theory, theorized that factors causing job satisfaction were different from those that cause job dissatisfaction. The research conducted by the duo sort to find out about (1) the causes of employee attitudes, (2) the results of positive or negative job satisfaction, and (3) how to measure and influence employee attitudes. A research undertaken by Suleiman (2013, p.143), has revealed that the Nigerian Government has recorded and experienced poor attitudes from both public and private corporations.
