Character creation is one of the most creative and fun parts about Larp, you can be whoever or whatever you want to be. Your character will go on adventures in the vast wastelands known as Greyfell, your character will meet other members of this town, and they’ll learn there back stories. Your character will become another part of you, your personally and creative mind will give life to this character. Costume design, backstory, and class selection will help you in making your character something unique.
But how do you create a character?
Creating a character for Fall of Man is easy, all you need is…
- Basic information (Name, age, Race, etc.)
- Personality
- Badass Backstory
- Costume
- Character Card
- A …show more content…
A good tip to keep in mind is to have your backstory and personality match up, Scrubs is typically less of a risk taker due to his blindness, but on occasion will do something risky.
If you feel even more adventurous, consider asking other Fall of Man players to take a look at it, or even include them in your story. It will also make you seem more connected to other players in Fall of Man!
Step 4: Costume
Costume design can easily make your character look and feel more in the time period, for example. You wouldn’t see a person out on the streets wearing a gasmask, looking like he just murdered seven people, all while enjoying a drink from the Dive!
Sites like Pintrest, google images, and Larp discussion forms are a great way to get inspiration. A lot of materials needed to make a great Post-Apocalyptic are materials you may already have in your house (or apartment, I don’t know your life).
Remember, when it comes to the races Ghoul, Mutant, and Biomech. It is a costume requirement to have some form of makeup or prostitute. This can be as simple or complex as you …show more content…
You will save yourself a lot of work. Also, it would really suck to lose 10 stamps that can’t be replaced, which means almost ten months of work that you lost because your card got damaged. Bottom line, get your card backed up, or keep it safe!
Finally steps, try and stay “In Character” or IC as much as possible during the session, as it will make your experience memorable. Only break character if it is absolutely necessary such as if there is an emergency, or something needs more explaining. In the event that something happens, Role Play it out…
Construction of Ren Fair? “High levels of radiation forces everyone out of Greyfell to a nearby ghost town…” Player needs to leave the session early? “At that moment, (blank) was no longer in Greyfell. Nobody had heard from him since this morning…” Some caught their pants on fire? “There pants caught on fire!” (In the event that a player’s pants do catch on fire, yell “hold” and attempt to put the fire out using safe methods. Hold all combat and RP until someone yells “Lay On.”)
And with all this in mind, your character is ready to go. Grab your character card, your foam latex weapon, and your backstory and head to the next
