1. Explain the difference between fat – soluble and water – soluble vitamins?
The difference between fat- soluble is it is needed to keep our bodies functioning, we need up to 35% of fat which is knowing as calories to help maintain:
• A good health growth and development.
• Energy which fat is used for if the energy that is being put into the body is not being used up it will store as fat which is knowing as weigh gain.
• Need to be able to absorb vitamins like A needed for vision, D needed for absorption of calcium, E needed for protecting cell walls and also K needed for blood clotting which is found in meats. Theses vitamins known as the fat soluble vitamins.

You could have charts up on the wall and have different fruit and vegetables each day and ask the children to try and eat a bit of the food and if eating all different types of fruit and vegetables during the week they could get a surprize. In this activity you are promoting good heathy eating habits which are a great way of getting them to remember while they have started eating good nutritional foods at a young age. Processed foods as they have no nutritional intake as they are full of additives, fast foods such as your micro wave dinners, take away foods like burger and chips and also need to avoided foods that have a great sugar intake.
Foods that should be eating
Fruit and vegetables, wholemeal bread which is full of fibre. Brown rice which contains carbohydrates. Eat plenty of green vegetables also salads as they have vitamin K which is needed for proper clothing of the blood.
