Romeo, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence try to change their fate. Friar tries sending a message to Romeo in Mantua through Friar John. This failed due to the plague that Mercutio set on the two house preventing, Romeo from receiving the message. Now their fate is in the final stage because they just have to die. Their desperate attempt to change their fate ended in tragedy as they both still end up dying, Romeo and Juliet.
Although society may have a part in the play being married at a young age and feuding families, but that doesn’t have to affect them. They don’t have to give into the peer pressure of the 16th century of marriage. They could’ve wait to get married, but either way their fate would’ve taken a toll on them.
In conclusion fate has a major toll in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Fate clearly has many advantages over its victim. The rashness and youth of the characters also influences the fate that they have. Fate can be controlling, it can give out unchangeable gifts, and it can’t be changed. Not only is fate the tragedy but society has a little to contribute to the
