These state government rules and standards are completely necessary for pharmacies to run smoothly and effectively. The Florida Board of Pharmacy is made up of mostly licensed pharmacists who have been in practice for a minimum of four years, with the exception of two members, who are just consumers and have no connection to pharmaceutical drugs or drug wholesalers. And the national Board of Pharmacy is above them, so I highly doubt that the private sector would have the ability to oversee that everything transfers over correctly and that no mistakes are made in the national databases.
Also, the federal government regulates the laws about federally controlled medications. Recently, the drug Hydrocodone, which is usually compounded with Acetaminophen, which makes up the drug called Vicodin and Norco, has changed drug schedules from a Class 4 drug to a Class 2 drug. While it has been a federally controlled medication, it is now much more regulated. Pharmacy technicians have to accommodate to the ever-changing rules of handling medications, and making sure that we are doing our best to help the customers or patients.
I definitely do not think most Americans understand the importance of government in their lives. Government is a necessary tool to keep activities and people in check so to speak. Every nation or entity requires some sort of governmental involvement. There ought to be boundaries of how much government can get involved, it was meant to help the people out, not to control
