The misuse of fireworks can really damage not just the natural world, but humans as well. U.S. hospitals treated nearly 8,700 injuries related to fireworks in 2012 (NFPA.org). Many cities have gone to desperate measures to reduce the problems, even going to the point of making all fireworks illegal. With the proper safety precautions, one can prevent any accidents. The safety measures begin before one buys fireworks. If one is new to fireworks, it would be smarter to buy a smaller, easier-to-control type, like bottle rockets. Once one has plenty of experience with fireworks, then it would be safe to move up the ladder. After buying the fireworks, one should keep them in a safe, secure area. Be smart by staying away from hot, crowded areas. Try a cool, spacious range, like a basement. The temperature is lower and the fireworks are less likely to be meddled with
