We need to start thinking about Medicare, especially when we reach certain age there is always a time in every person’s life where we have to. We need to choose from four different plans for Medicare: A, B, C, and D. The cost and coverage varies depending on the state, so we also need to think about that. It is a challenging decision to make a choice of the plan because since it is so important, every option needs to be studied and considered before signing up into any of the different plans. I as a healthcare provider I believe it is part of my commitment as a nurse offer all the information that would make my patients have a better understanding about Medicare.
What Is Medicare
“Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people who are 65 or older, certain younger people with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD)” (Medicare.gov). With this assignment I had the opportunity to look inside the program and I believe that is easy to choose the plan if I used the tool from the Medicare web page, but I am still confused why I have to ask my Primary Care Physician to go to see an OBGYN.
