Friar Lawrence killed Romeo and Juliet The classic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, by playwright William Shakespeare is about two young lovers from rival noble families who fall in love. When they each believe that each other are dead, they commit suicide. Their deaths eventually lead to the pacification of the feuding families. In between these scenes, there are many acts performed by different characters in the play that may have been responsible for the death of the star-crossed lovers.
