This set of observations took place at the Starbucks located across from the Aderhold building on Georgia State’s campus. I was there around noon from one of the chairs inside the store. This time is a typical lunch break for the people in the corporate environment, which is a busy time for businesses in that area because it is surrounded by corporate offices. The majority of people that I saw and choose to focus on were the people in the business clothing that appeared to be on their lunch break. I observed that the women that were in line appeared to be more stressed out and pressed for time during this break, whereas the men did not appear to be stressed. The women in line also appeared to be standing closer together and were talking in groups or pairs, whereas the men were by themselves and did not stand as close to other people. I overheard one group of women talking about how they were overwhelmed with both home and work duties, which is supported by the quote saying, “There is nothing wrong with money or power. But they come at a high price. And lately when women talk about success they use words like satisfaction, balance and sanity” (Belkin, 334). Both the verbal and physical cues that I picked up on support the idea that women have entered the workforce into a man’s world and therefore experience more stress than them, on
