Depending on what region they live in they have different roles. For example, if a couple lived in a rustic area, the man does most of the hard labor while the woman would garden and do things around the house. Some women actually partake in doing a man’s task if necessary, but they would not do certain things, such as plowing. Men also do the women’s task when they have to, like cooking, and some of the men actually like it. A married couple would spend time together and raise their children as partners, but in Spain it is common to enjoy certain activities separately. In some families, the men often get involved in politics, while the woman is involved in raising the kids and do house work. If a family can afford it, they often hire a servant to help with daily things. The Castilian law says that women should inherit just as much property as her brothers. This rule used to be controlled once a woman was married, but women who were not married could do whatever they like with the property. In today’s world, spouses are now equal. A woman could even be an heir in her family, but if she decides to marry an heir, then she lives with him and gives up her power in her family. Language and media have evolved over the years. It is seen today in the streets of some Spanish regions. Street signs and building names are no longer just in Spanish, but the signs are now the native language of that region. This shows that the country can change, and it shows that they have respect for other people’s language and their culture. Also, media has grown in Spain as well, going from just two television stations to six is a major improvement, and television will only continue to evolve more. These two factors have helped shape the county, by pushing through language and media boundaries; it has only helped shape the country.
