GMOs cause human health hazards by increasing the risk for humans and interfering with the human body. Environmental hazards are caused from GMOs by genetically engineering plants and animals. Plants and animals are not growing natural, they animals are growing bigger than there suppose to grow and the plants are growing with pesticides already on them so bugs and animals won 't eat them. Animals have to suffer more than plants animals have to get tested on, to see whether GMOs have health effects or not. "Several animal studies indicate serious health risks associated with GM food, including infertility, immune problems, accelerated aging, insulin regulation, and changes in major organs and the gastrointestinal system... There is more than a causal association between GM foods and adverse health effects. There is causation ..."(Mercola …show more content…
“Despite the misleading claims of companies selling them. Genetically engineered (GE) crops will not alleviate traditional environmental concerns, such as the chemical contamination of water, air or soil. Far from eliminating pesticides, GE crops have actually increased this chemical pollution”(Tamara par.2). When plants are genetically modified to make its own pesticide, the soil which the plant was grown in can be contaminated from the chemicals that plant may release into the soil. The contaminated soil in the ground contaminates the groundwater. Groundwater is water located under the Earth’s surface and supplies wells, aquifers and streams and makes up approximately 70 % of the world’s fresh water supply. The air is contaminated by GMOs from evaporation. Evaporation is the process by which water changes from a liquid to a gas or vapor. The groundwater becomes surface water and then surface water evaporates into the
