There are several factors that are not environmental that can effect the way a phenotype is displayed. An example of Dominant and Recessive genes are eye color. This refers to your ability to change and adapt to your life. This refers to Phenotypic Plasticity. The most common type is health habits. The amount of exercise an individual has directly correlates to how large a person is going to be. Even if it is in the person’s DNA to be overweight if they eat very healthy and exercise a lot it is possible for them to be thin, and vise-versa. This is environmental because people’s habits are based off of how they grew up and what they are used to being executable or viewing the change that is needed to be made, that is typically why people live the lifestyle that they do. The ability to adapt is when you can easily alter these traits based on the environment you are in. Because you eat so many healthy spices or grew up vegan you might be less susceptible to certain diseases and that is how your phenotype reacts to those cultural assurances. Some cultures have historically more fattening food so the people might be more fat because it is in the way they are raised and they are raised this way because they are from these people and therefore from the genes that desire this way, or historically didn’t have anything else to eat or way of living and sleeping. This could be applied to so many different things. But it isn’t solely the genes that are causing the phenotype to act the way it is or that the culture is held the way it is.
Genes shouldn’t be patented because there are so many of them that it isn’t possible to have all of the same ones. Even if you ended up with the same genes the odds that you would end up like someone else is impossible because there is no way to subject the same two people to the exact same experiences. Even twins, who share DNA, don’t end up the same even if raised in the same
