The determination that Marshall showed through all his great triumphs was what brought him to this point in history… A legend.
George Marshall had an idea that would change the lives of millions of people. This proposition would come to live in infamy. This plan was known as The Marshall Plan. The Marshall Plan was a recovery program in Europe after World War II had taken it’s toll on the European economy (The Reader’s Companion to American History-1991). The disasters of WWII had left Europe broken down, and pain-stricken. Certain actions needed to be performed to help get the European economy back on it’s feet. This jump start would come by American, George Catlett Marshall (U.S national Archives and Records Administration). Marshall changed the lives of millions through the plan in which he developed at the request of President Harry S. Truman (VMI Parade). Marshall proposed at Harvard University on June 5, 1947 (U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, and The Reader’s Companion to American History-1991).
