American perspectives are speckled with biased opinions and misconceptions due to the influence of social media today.
The United States has abandoned Washington’s advice to cherish public credit. America has pushed financial responsibilities by the wayside as the national debt continues to dramatically rise. Washington states in his address, “One method of preserving it is to use it as sparingly as possible, avoiding occasions of expense by cultivating peace......avoiding likewise the accumulation of debt, not only by shunning occasions of expense, but by vigorous exertion in time of peace” (Washington). The United States has been at war since the twin towers fell in New York City September 11, 2001. This has caused a significant drain on our economy and national debt. Also, the country continually impedes with other countries and has demonstrated a very poor record of interference in other economies and political sanctions against certain nations also contributing to additional expenses that should not occur. The United States has inserted itself in the internal affairs of other countries when sometimes the matter does not directly involve the United States.
