According to the We Shall Remain: Geronimo (Craig, 2009) video, Geronimo led 200 men from his tribe into battle against the Mexicans, his actions during battle of sacrificing himself for the good of his tribe portrayed the concept of idealized influence from the FRLD lesson in Course 14. Idealized influence leaders display high levels of moral and set the example (BCEE, 2014, p. 14). These actions consisted of having no fear and once he was out of arrows he used his knife (Craig, 2009). Throughout my time as an MTI, I have had to make ethical decisions daily. Should I put this trainee on their face, should I make them run down the stairs to make up time because we are late? I am already interpreting the situation, then I have to decide the second and third order effects. Is it really worth the risk? If I decide to have them do this am I falling into an ethical trap? Then I will select the best option, and decide it isn’t worth the risk. Once I decide if I am going to put them on their face then I need to make sure it is related to a training objective, if not then I should not do it. If I am running late I can place them at ease and have them walk faster to make up time instead of risking a trainee falling down the stairs. My decisions are my fate and reflect on what type of leader I
