At the beginning of Greek history, they held all kinds of festivals to honor their gods. The God, Dionysus, was honored by the festival called the City of Dionysia in the spring. The festivities were filled with drunken men sing, dancing, dressing up in goat skins, and competing with one another to see who could put on the best show (“Festivals and Theaters” n.pag). The people in this time period believed that the god’s have already decided all of their fate and there was no way of changing it. So to express their beliefs, the all drama’s presented a similar issue: a person's fate has already been decided in advance by the gods, and that there is no way an individual can avoid this fate.
