The study provides a varied assessment of the communication techniques administered by the physicians, nurses and staff in regards to the lines of verbal and written communication delivered at Scripps Mercy Hospital, San Diego, a facility providing acute care and emergency services. A primary goal of the use of HCAHPS for this systematic review and comparative analysis was to reflect a collection of uniform data sets through the publics reporting, allowing for viable objective comparisons in an effort to shed light on the hospital’s communication and health literacy strengths and deficiencies, as well as support the patient’s healthcare choices and improve the quality of care at the Scripps Mercy Hospital. The clear transparency reflected in the HCAPHS Survey data will allow for a broader discussion providing clear considerations and solutions for further changes and improvements to the hospital. Ultimately, the purpose of this analytic review will determine the success of the routine use of advocated health-literate communication techniques by the healthcare facility and reflect the effectiveness on its patient
