The line of communication between IS and the staff was exceptional with any questions, concerns, or complaints being addressed within the day. Procedures and status updates were carefully explained in detail to IS, as well as to her family members that were present by the doctors that always introduced themselves and did not appear rushed. Two days after being admitted, IS underwent closed reduction surgery to align her fractured hip, and three pins were inserted to stabilize the bone. The nurses that took care of IS were efficient and would always follow up with her, as she describes them as "kind, gentle, understanding, and they all did they best they could" (personal communication, September 26, 2015). At night, the door to the room was cracked and the lights were left on in the bathroom to reduce her risk of falling. Having the presence of people around at all hours made IS feel safe during that time, as many elderly patients can become confused and feel unsafe without a family member around to advocate for them. Attentive to her individual needs, IS was able to leave her room, go to the outside grounds, and spend time with her small dog. Overall, experiencing no negative interaction with any healthcare professional, IS would rate her time spent in the hospital as an 8.5-9 out of 10 which reflects high-quality
