In order to protect, or prevent rotavirus infection, the best way is for your children and yourself to take an rotavirus vaccine. The first dose of the vaccine is the most effective and powerful one if it is given to a child who are under 15 week of age. In addition, children should receive rotavirus vaccine before they turn 8 months old.
If your children or you had rotavirus, the biggest concern, or in other words, the only way to stay safe is to consume plenty of liquids, preferable water. Once the symptoms of rotavirus kicked in, you and your child will be dehydrated, which in turns can cause very severe consequences. That explains why staying hydrated is so vital and crucial. If the patient has severe diarrhea, ask the doctors for oral rehydration fluid, for instance, Pedialyte, especially if the diarrhea has lasted more than a few days. For children, a rehydration fluid can be more effective than other fluids, as it replace lost minerals that have been lost during
