Through HIT, the electronic health records (EHRs) can improve healthcare quality, safety, and effectiveness. This can be achieved by harmonizing patient 's health information with appropriate clinical knowledge so that clinicians can incorporate that information or knowledge into decision-making. Clinical decision support system (CDSS) is a means that enhances decision-making by clinicians and patients in their healthcare management. As patients participate and become partners in their care through personal health records (PHRs) and EHRs integration, information generated can become relevant clinical facts to guide clinicians to provide timely services tailor to specific health needs of patients. To optimize patient outcomes, it is vital to record and store relevant health information that can be accessed easily as needed to strengthen clinical decision making (Levy, & Heyes, 2012).
