The availability of access to social and economic opportunities plays an important role in our health. Within the topic of social determinants, it can be broken into five different key areas. These five key determinants include, economic stability, education, social and community context, health and health care, and neighborhood and built environment. Education is determined by ones literacy and language, high school graduation, and if they are enrolled in higher education. Social and community context are the civic participation that one is involved in. Health and health care is the access and knowledge of health care. Neighborhood and built environment is dependent on the quality of housing, crime and violence and environmental condition.
