The main purpose of this study was to examine the experiences of men and women who had non-fatal heroin overdoses in Malmo, Sweden. They were interested in finding out if there were other circumstances that led to the overdose, such as using more than one drug at a time. They were also interested by what actions witnesses took if they were present during the time of an overdose.
