I wouldn’t be surprised if someone were to tell me that there are more places in this state that serve tacos, burritos, pepusas, fajitas, etc. than there are places that sell the “all American” burger and fries. From what I have heard, nothing truly compares to real and authentic Mexican and Salvadoran cuisine made in their home countries, and what we offer here in California is often a more Americanized version of the food. However with that being said, this cuisine has become hugely popular amongst Californians. Also, several of our tropical fruits such as mango, papaya, plantains, and pineapple come from South America. Again, without the immigration of Hispanics, our state would be lacking this delicious cuisine and would be missing out on these wonderful flavors of the
