The Industrial revolution began in Great Britain. It began in their because their was many rivers and seas, it was flat, strong banking system, a strong government, and it also had land labor and capital. They would use the land to get coal, and to get iron and also waterways for transportation and power. They would have labor for workforce of affordable labor. Many people moved to the city's and they lived close to the factories and mills. The living conditions were terrible because of all the air pollution because some lived very close to the factories. Some people lived in slums which were crowded poor neighborhoods near their work. Some other people lived in tenements which were six story apartments were whole families were crowded into tiny rooms. And there was no police or firefighters at this time there was not even a sewage system or garbage collection. And the working conditions were bad people worked six days a week, 14-16 hours a day and the children and women only got paid 50% of what men got paid. In the winter it was freezing they had ferences to heat up the room and in the summer it was boiling hot they had large windows to let the fresh air come in. There was also a lot of dust in the air of textile factories that would kill workers. In Some factories some workers lost a finger or even a hand, and there was no medical insurance at this
