The culture in Hong Kong is varies from time to time, there are many unclear lines have been drawn in defining the cultural change since there are different narratives told by different “Hong Kongers”. From defining the cultural change in Hong Kong, to taking for granted that a genuine Hong Kong culture does exist. Especially after the handover of Hong Kong in 1997, it has propelled the the analysis of social and cultural phenomena in Hong Kong (Cheung & Tam, 1999). So, the period from pre-handover to post-handover would be the key analysis in the culture change at below. Furthermore, on the whole, the social mobility in Hong Kong can fit with the CASMIN core model (Lui, 1995), but some part of it has the diversification from time to time, the diversification are mainly because of the shortage of high-pay job. In addition, the opportunities and challenges posted to young people are associated with the social mobility of the society, the strategy of social mobility can affect whether there are more or less chance for young people in Hong Kong (Lui, 1995). Lastly, bases on the analysis of the social mobility in Hong Kong, there are some solution for self-improvement would be provided.
