I chose this quote because this quote is the base to understand Freire’s philosophy of education. Paulo Freire believed that people with a tight connection with his or her culture, politic and economic environment, should impart a democratic education in order to liberate the individuals from their oppressors. Educators have to expose their ideology, and who they are as human beings. They have to expose their beliefs, passions and fears. Students have to feel the connection with their educators. My first goal is to be well prepared academically. I believe that teachers never stop learning. As educator, I want to work to get higher education. First, I want to have my master degree. Next, I want to have my teaching credential and then I want to work in a doctorate. My second goal is to innovate my teaching according to my students needs. I believe that teachers have to innovate their teaching periodically. Children learn differently and get bored easily, therefore I have to incorporate activities in my curriculum that keep them engage. Also I want to incorporate parents in activities in order that my students feel they are in a safe environment. My third goal is to offer my students a quality of education. I think that this goal is the combination of my first and second goal. If I want to offer my student a quality of education I have to be well prepared academically and I have to innovate my teaching day by day. I have to be prepared every day with my material and lesson plans in order to give my student all my attention while I am working with them. Those three goals will help me to create a learning environment where my students feel free to
