Francisco always stays and helps around the family, even when they go through problems, he also has his own problems. Francisco is very resilient; he is under so much pressure and he loses so much yet he doesn’t give up. During Francisco’s life in California his house burns down, along with his notebook, the most important thing he owned at the time. After weeping over the lost of his book, he soon realizes that everything in the book is memorized is his mind and that he can actually live without it.
