Germany was not prepared for Russia's winter (I). Hitler used the Greek, pincer attack to win the battle between Russia. Stalin realized this and used his own strategy to fight against it. First, he took out the Nazi supplier, stopping them from receiving new clothes, ammo, and food. Then laying their soldiers out in waves. When the Nazi destroyed one layer, the survivors took what they could, burned everything else, and retreated to the next wave. This continued until the last wave outside Moscow. Russia was still losing more and more to starvation, injuries, and frostbite. “There is no such thing as bad weather, only wrong kind of clothing,” Russian Saying. The OKH (Oberkommando des Heeres) and Hitler were going to strike Moscow, but how. The OKH wanted to go straight through Moscow, and win this battle. Hitler wanted to take a detour to Ukraine.
