The brain stem also monitors impulsive activity, such as heart rate. According to Corballis (1991), the left hemisphere processes the actual content of language meanwhile the right hemisphere processes the emotional content of speech intonation, faces, gestures and volume related with how something is communicated.Therefore, the aim of this essay is to discuss the role of biology in emotion and the three theories of emotions which are the James-Lange theory, Cannon-Bard theory, Schachter-Singer theory and Facial-Feedback
